INDIAN INSTITUTE OF PUBLIC HEALTH GANDHINAGAR
The Indian Institute of Public Health, Gandhinagar (IIPHG) is a private university situated in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. It was established in 2015 by the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) through The Indian Institute of Public Health Gandhinagar Act, 2015. It is one of five Indian Institutes of Public Health founded by PHFI and the first among them to be granted university status, making it the first university in India focused solely on public health. The Government of Gujarat and PHFI signed an MoU in 2007 to establish the institute, and its foundation stone was laid in 2008 by Narendra Modi, then Chief Minister of Gujarat. The institute began operations in 2008 from a temporary location in Ahmedabad before its permanent campus in Gandhinagar was inaugurated in 2015, at which point it received university status. Academically, the university offers a two-year Master of Public Health and a Master of Hospital Administration, along with a one-year diploma course and various short-term and distance learning programmes.
