N.S. Memorial Nursing School operates under N. S. Memorial Institute of Medical Sciences (NSMIMS), a co-operative multi-super-specialty hospital located at Palathara in Kollam, India. NSMIMS was founded in 2000 in memory of N. Sreedharan, a communist organizer and member of the secretariat of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). The hospital began functioning in a temporary facility in 2000 and started full operations in 2006 after being inaugurated by Prakash Karat, General Secretary of the CPI(M). The institute has 32 specialty departments, 95 doctors including 25 post graduate doctors, and more than 950 medical and paramedical staff. The nursing school building opened in 2011, providing facilities to accommodate 200 students, and the society running the institute has started a B.Sc. Nursing course. The campus is located about 6 kilometers from Kollam railway station and 60 kilometers from Trivandrum International Airport, alongside the Kollam Bypass of National Highway 66, with nearby transport links including Kollam Junction railway station, Kollam KSRTC Bus Station, Kollam Port, and Kollam Asramam Helipad.
