Fr. Muller's College of Nursing
Fr. Muller's College of Nursing operates under the Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI), which trace their origins to Father Muller Hospital, founded in 1880 in South Canara by Fr. Augustus Muller, a German Jesuit priest who initially dispensed homeopathic medicines. The institution's healthcare mission expanded over time, eventually establishing the School of Nursing, which offered diploma courses in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM). This later evolved into the College of Nursing, which offers a Bachelors of Nursing Science degree. The College of Nursing is one of several institutions under FMCI, which also includes Father Muller Medical College, located at Kankanady in Mangaluru, Karnataka. FMCI is administered under the Diocese of Mangalore, with the Bishop of Mangalore serving as president. The broader FMCI campus includes attached hospitals and health centres in the region, such as facilities in Mullerkad, Thumbay, and rural health centres in Dakshina Kannada district. FMCI also holds an annual Graduation Ceremony and Institutions' Day, during which students from its various institutions, including nursing, receive their degrees.
