University college of Fine Arts Mysore
College of Fine Arts, Bengaluru (CFA), earlier known as Chitrakala Vidyalaya, is a fine arts college located in Bangalore, Karnataka, affiliated to Bengaluru City University. It was established in 1964 under the guidance of the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, founded by Sri M Aryamurthy, with Prof. M.S. Nanjunda Rao as founder secretary and first Principal. It was inaugurated by Russian artist Svetoslav Roerich and initially offered only a certification course, which developed into a five-year diploma in the 1970s. In 1983, it was granted degree college status with affiliation to Bangalore University, offering Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts. The college was later relocated to a 14-acre campus on the Uttarahalli-Kengeri main road near Rajarajeshwari Nagar in Bangalore. It offers courses in Painting, Sculpture, Graphic Art, Applied Art, Art History, Animation, and Ceramics. The college is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and has been NAAC accredited since 2004. Students participate in exhibitions, workshops, and cultural events organized by the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, including the annual Chitra Santhe festival. Notable alumni include actress Daisy Bopanna, actress Disha Madan, comedian Kenny Sebastian, filmmaker Mansore, and director Shashank.
