ATAL BIHARI VAJPAYEE HINDI VISHWAVIDYALAYA

Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hindi Vishwavidyalaya is a state university located in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India. It was established in December 2011 and is named after the Hindi poet and former Prime Minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Mohan Lal Chhipa was the university's first Vice Chancellor. As of 2016, the university operated from two rented buildings, with classes held at the old Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly and administrative work conducted at a building in the Mungalia Kot campus. The foundation stone for a permanent 50-acre campus in Mungalia Kot was laid in 2013. The university has focused on promoting the Hindi language in higher education; in 2015 it requested the Medical Council of India to allow MBBS papers to be written in Hindi, and in 2016 it launched India's first engineering course taught in Hindi, though by 2017 the program faced possible discontinuation due to low enrollment and infrastructure issues. In November 2020, the university introduced a First Aid Specialist Diploma and other first aid courses in collaboration with the First Aid Council of India (FACI), Delhi, which is presided over by Shabab Aalam.
