Dhubri P.G.T.T. College
B. N. College, also known as Bhola Nath College, is located in Dhubri, Assam, and is one of the oldest institutions of higher learning in Western Assam. It was established on 16 August 1946, largely funded by donations from the Lakhipur Estate Zamindar family of Late Bhola Nath Choudhury, after a public meeting held in 1944 that envisaged a college with arts and science streams in Dhubri. The first principal was Dr. Phani Bhusan Roy. The college was originally affiliated with Calcutta University and is now affiliated with Gauhati University, having received autonomous status in July 2024. It sits on an 18-acre campus with sports infrastructure, a library, hostel, pond, canteen, health center, and science labs. The college has 26 departments across arts and science faculties, offers vocational training, and a Post Graduate Correspondence School. It was accredited 'A+' by NAAC in 2023. Degrees offered include B.A., B.Sc., B.Voc (IT), B.Com, and BCA, along with HSSLC certificates, and postgraduate programs in M.Sc. Chemistry and M.A. Assamese. Notable alumni include politicians Abdul Hamid, Aminul Islam, and Ashok Kumar Singhi.
