Asansol Girls' College
Asansol Girls' College is a women's college located in Asansol, in the Paschim Bardhaman district of West Bengal, India. It offers undergraduate courses in arts and sciences. The college was established in 1950 and initially shared the premises of Manimala Girls' High School until 1962, when it moved to its own building. Because of this shared history, local people referred to it as Manimala College, though Asansol Girls' College has always been its official name. On Establishment Day, a procession travels from the College to Manimala Girls' High School to honor its origins. The college was originally affiliated with the University of Calcutta, and later became affiliated with the University of Burdwan after that university's establishment. Since 24 June 2015, the college has been affiliated with Kazi Nazrul University, Asansol. It is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and was reaccredited by the National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an 'A Level' certification in December 2016.
