SRI GOWTHAMI B.ED COLLEGE, YERRAGONDAPALEM
Sri Gowthami B.Ed College is associated with the Sri Gowthami Educational Institutions (SGEIs), a group of colleges established by educationalist and social activist Kanumarla Gunda Reddy and managed by the Sri Gowthami Urban and Rural Integrated Development and Educational Society (SGURID&ES), registered in 2000. The first SGEI institution, Sri Gowthami Junior College, was started in 2000 at Darsi in Prakasam district. Recognizing the lack of teacher-training institutions for aspirants in Darsi and surrounding mandals, the society established Sri Gowthami College of Education in 2006. The SGEIs later expanded with a Junior & Degree College at Erragondapalem in 2012, part of the broader network of colleges offering undergraduate, postgraduate, and technical education across Prakasam district. Professional, skill-development, and technical institutions under SGEIs are affiliated to the National Council for Technical Education (NCTE), Bangalore, APSCHE, Hyderabad, SCERT, and DGET (NCVT), and are recognized by the respective Government of Andhra Pradesh and Government of India bodies. The society also emphasizes social responsibility through NSS activities, blood donations, health camps, and free education for underprivileged and SC/ST students.
