Air Force Administrative College
Air Force Administrative College (AFAC), located at Coimbatore, is one of the oldest training institutes of the Indian Air Force (IAF). The college conducts a range of courses for in-service officers, including the Basic Air Typing Staff Course for Officers (BASCO), Intermediate Air Typing Staff Course for Officers (ISCO), Basic Professional Knowledge Course (BPKC), Advanced Professional Knowledge Course (APKC), a Para Legal Course, and Basic ground conversion training for pilots. In addition to these general administrative and professional courses, AFAC also offers specialized training for the Meteorology branch of the IAF. These meteorology-related courses include the Initial Forecasters' Course (IFC), Advanced Met Courses for Met Tradesmen (Senior Non-Commissioned Officers), and the 2nd Stage Training of GDOC (Met). The institution serves as a key training center for equipping Air Force officers and personnel with administrative, professional, and technical skills relevant to their roles within the IAF. AFAC is noted alongside other military educational institutions such as the Indian National Defence University, various Military Academies in India, and Sainik schools, reflecting its role within India's broader defense education framework.
