INSTITUTE OF PUBLIC HEALTH AND HYGIENE
The Royal Institute of Public Health traces its origins to the Metropolitan Association of Medical Officers of Health, an English society of metropolitan Medical Officers of Health established on 3 April 1856. In 1869 the word 'Metropolitan' was dropped from its title, and in 1873 it was renamed the Society of Medical Officers of Health. In 1989 it became the Society of Public Health. In 2008, the Royal Institute of Public Health merged with the Royal Society for Health to form the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH). Notable past presidents of the institute include John Simon, its first president, Lawson Soulsby, Baron Soulsby of Swaffham Prior, and Nora Wattie. The institute published the journal 'Public Health', which is now owned by the Royal Society for Public Health. Its previous publications included the 'Journal of State Medicine' and 'Health & Hygiene'. Archives related to the Royal Institute of Public Health and Hygiene are held at the Wellcome Library. No details are provided in the text regarding any campus, affiliation, or location in Delhi.
