IDEAL COLLEGE
Ideal College, also known as Ideal College Dhanmondi, is a private educational institution situated on Central Road in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It was established in 1969. The college provides higher secondary education in the streams of science, commerce, and humanities, and also offers undergraduate-level education affiliated with the National University, Bangladesh. Academically, the institution is organized into eighteen departments and is staffed by eighty-three teachers along with approximately sixty administrative personnel. At the higher secondary certificate (H.S.C.) level, encompassing both the first and second years, the college enrolls around four thousand students across the science, arts, and commerce disciplines. In recent years, the college has been involved in conflicts with students from Dhaka College and Dhaka City College, with clashes occurring in the streets in 2025 and 2026 that disrupted city traffic. Although a 'peace agreement' was reached between the colleges in 2025, further clashes occurred afterward, including another incident in 2026.
