Government Engineering College, Hassan (GECH) is an engineering college situated in Hassan, Karnataka, India, built on a forty-acre campus. It was established by the Government of Karnataka's Department of Technical Education in 2007–2008 as one of ten new engineering colleges, with the goal of reaching underserved regions. The college is affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University in Belgaum and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. It initially offered four engineering branches—Civil, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering—and later added Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning from 2024-25, bringing the total to five disciplines. Admissions to the B.E. programmes are through the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority, with fee reimbursement or scholarships available for economically weaker students. The college has around 40 faculty members, a library, computer and department labs, and internet facilities under the National Mission of Education. Student activities include SPIC MACAY cultural programs, the Ananya magazine, GLUE and GEON technology groups, the annual Gech Utsav festival, and Science Club sessions. The college also served as a CET-2012 helpline verification center for several districts.
