Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Govt Institute of Medical Science and Research

Government Medical College, Srinagar, Pauri Garhwal, also known as Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Government Medical Science and Research Institute (VCSGGMSRI), is a government medical college situated amid the Himalayan mountain ranges near Srinagar in Pauri Garhwal district, Uttarakhand, India. Established in 2008, the institute admits 150 M.B.B.S. students annually (as of 2021) through the NEET examination, with 85% of seats filled under state quota and 15% under all-India quota. The college is well connected by road to Dehradun, about 126 km from Jolly Grant Airport, and a rail line to Rishikesh is under construction. Infrastructure includes five air-conditioned lecture theatres seating 140 students each, a computerized Wi-Fi library, hostels with mess facilities, modern laboratories, an auditorium inaugurated in 2020, and campus-wide CCTV surveillance. The associated HNB Base Hospital is a 500-bed facility offering modern medical care. The campus uses solar energy for electrification and is surrounded by greenery. As of 2016, four batches had graduated from the institute. Courses offered include M.B.B.S., MD/MS, and post-MBBS NBEMS Diploma programs in specialties such as Paediatrics, Anaesthesia, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Community Medicine, Pathology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine, Biochemistry, Physiology, and Anatomy.
