Govt. College, Barwala

Guru Gorakhnath Government Post Graduate College, Hisar is a public funded college located in Hisar in the Indian state of Haryana, focused on fodder research and training. The college is named after Gorakhnath, who lived between the 11th to 12th or possibly 14th century CE. It is located on the Hisar-Rajgarh road, with Mahabir Stadium to its north. The college was established in 1950 at a rented building on Railway Road, shared with the Punjab Veterinary College, which later moved to the Government Livestock Farm, Hisar in 1961, eventually becoming part of CCS HAU and later LUVAS. In 1976, the college moved to its current 49-acre site on Rajgarh road, where five new blocks were constructed at a cost of INR 5,000,000. In 1977–78, the college had 1,624 students, and by 2007–08 it had grown to 3,395 students and 125 faculty members, with a teacher-student ratio of 1:27. The college offers undergraduate and post-graduate courses in arts, science, commerce, business, computer, and electronics. The campus also contains the 12th century Pranpir Badshah tomb, located immediately east of the Panchayat bhawan.
