National Institute of Fashion Technology, Hauz Khas

National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is an autonomous institute offering courses in fashion, technology, and management, with its head office located in New Delhi, India. It was established in 1986 under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, and was declared a statutory institute in 2006 under the NIFT Act of the Indian Parliament, which empowered it to grant its own degrees. NIFT was initially housed in a small portion of Indraprastha Stadium (later renamed Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium) in New Delhi before shifting to a dedicated campus in Hauz Khas, designed by Gautam Bhatia. NIFT currently operates 19 campuses across India, with additional campuses established over the years in cities such as Chennai, Kolkata, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Navi Mumbai, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Jodhpur, Kangra, Kannur, Patna, Raebareli, Shillong, Srinagar, Panchkula, Daman, and Varanasi. The institute offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes in design, management, and technology, including Bachelor and Master's degrees in Design and Fashion Technology, as well as PhD programmes.
