Kamala Nehru College
Kamala Nehru College, located on August Kranti Marg, New Delhi, was established in 1964 by Dr. K.K. Gorowara as Government College for Women in Defence Colony. It was renamed 'Modern College for Women' in 1966 and finally became Kamala Nehru College in 1974, honoring the freedom fighter and wife of Jawaharlal Nehru. The college moved to its present location, where the foundation stone was laid in 1972 by President V.V. Giri. It is affiliated with the University of Delhi and holds an 'A' Grade from NAAC, being one of the most prestigious all-girls colleges in Delhi. The college offers undergraduate programmes in Arts and Commerce, postgraduate Master of Arts programmes, and add-on courses like French language and Ecotourism certification. It ranked 43rd among Indian colleges by NIRF in 2024. Facilities include an auditorium inaugurated in 1991, sports grounds, computer labs, a gymnasium, eco-friendly classrooms, and a well-stocked library. The Placement Cell, established in 2006, connects students with top recruiters like EY, KPMG, and Wipro, offering training, internships, and career guidance.
