Indian Institute for Aeronautical Engineering & Information Technology (IIAEIT) is an aerospace engineering college located in Pune, India. Besides aerospace engineering, it also offers mechanical engineering and other technology-related courses. The institute is especially known for its full-time, face-to-face B.Tech Aerospace Engineering (BTAE) course, which was jointly launched by D.Y Patil University and the Aeronautical Engineering and Research Organisation (AERO). AERO itself is a constituent part of the Shastri Group of Institutes (SGI), which popularizes education, research and development by collaborating with various industries and educational institutions in aviation fields, both in India and abroad. SGI was founded in Pune by Anshul Sharma in 2001, initially preparing students for examinations conducted by professional institutes, with IIAEIT as its flagship institution. SGI is part of the PSD Shastri Educational Foundation, engaged in social services, and mentored by an Advisory Board with members from aviation, services, industry, business, and education. The aerospace engineering curriculum includes 19 laboratory courses, a year-long project in the seventh semester, eight electives in the final semester, industry visits across two semesters, and mandatory professional training, with 120 seats per centre. Fresh admissions were noted to be on hold by court order.
