Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences

Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (Dr. RMLIMS) is a medical institute with state university status situated in Vibhuti Khand, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India, with a new campus at Saheed Path, Ardonamau, Gomti Nagar. It was established in 2006 as an autonomous institute of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, modeled along the lines of SGPGIMS, Lucknow. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Department of Pediatrics are housed in the Ram Prakash Gupta Mother and Child State Referral Hospital near the new campus. In 2012, the institute received National Medical Commission approval to start postgraduate and higher degree courses, and in 2017 it received approval to run the MBBS degree course, initially as an affiliated college of King George's Medical University. In 2015, the Uttar Pradesh government began the process of upgrading it to a state university through an Act, which after amendments was approved by the Governor and notified on 12 September 2018. The institute currently offers MBBS, BSc Nursing, short-term training, Ph.D. programs, internships, and postgraduate degrees such as MD, DM, and MCh, across numerous multispecialty departments including Cardiology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Nephrology, and Radiodiagnosis, among others.
