Birla Institute of Technology & Sciences, Pilani

According to the text, Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani operates as a university with several constituent campuses, including one in Goa, established in 2004. Each campus, while following the same academic course structure set by BITS Pilani, has its own autonomous administration, student welfare division, faculty recruitment, and placement division. The institute offers four-year B.E. programs, five-year M.Sc. (Honors) dual-degree programs, M.E., and Ph.D. programs across various fields. Admission since 2005 has been based on the BITS Admission Test (BITSAT) for undergraduates and GATE or the BITS HD exam for graduate programs, with no caste- or category-based reservations. The university also accepts State and National Board toppers. Student life includes a lenient attendance policy and active student-run clubs, with major festivals such as Waves (cultural), Quark (technical), Spree (sports), and Zephyr (inter-hostel). The text also notes other BITS Pilani campuses, including those in Dubai, Hyderabad, and the original Pilani campus, though detailed information is provided primarily for the Goa campus.
