Sree Narayana Guru College

Sree Narayana Guru College of Engineering & Technology was established in 2003 by Sree Bhakthi Samvardhani Yogam, an organization founded in 1907. The college is located at Korom, a rural village about 6 km from Payyanur, a town in north Kerala, roughly 40 km from Kannur and 58 km from Kasaragod. It was founded in response to the limited seats in government engineering colleges and the government's permission for self-financed institutions. The college is named after Sree Narayana Guru, a saint and social reformer who lived from 1855 to 1928. Sree Bhakthi Samvardhani Yogam also manages other educational institutions, including Sree Narayana I.T.C in Talap, Kannur, Sree Narayana Nursery School in Kannur, and Sree Narayana Vidhya Mandir Senior Secondary School in Kannur. In January 2015, students from the college participated in activities in Coimbatore with other colleges, including street plays and a mob flash, to raise awareness about food wastage. The college offers B Tech programs in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Electrical and Communication, and Computer Science Engineering, as well as an M Tech in Computer Aided Structural Engineering (Civil Engineering).
