NATIONAL FORENSIC SCIENCES UNIVERSITY GUWAHATI CAMPUS
National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), formerly known as Gujarat Forensic Science University, is a public international university and autonomous institute headquartered in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. It was established by the Government of Gujarat in 2008 through Act 17 passed in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly on 30 September 2008. The university was upgraded to National Forensic Sciences University in October 2020 and recognized as an Institution of National Importance by an Act of the Indian Parliament, under the Ministry of Home Affairs. NFSU is solely dedicated to forensic science, investigative science, and criminology. It became an international university in April 2023 after opening its first campus outside India, in Uganda, which is also Africa's first forensic science university. As of April 2023, NFSU operates nine campuses across India, along with campuses in Uganda and Kazakhstan. One of its Indian campuses is located in Guwahati, Assam, as part of the university's expanding national network dedicated to forensic education and research.
