GOVT SCHOOL OF NURSING ERNAKULAM
The Government School of Nursing, Ernakulam operates as the College of Nursing within Government Medical College, Ernakulam (previously Cochin Medical College), located at Kalamassery, Kochi, in Kerala. The medical college itself was established in 1999 by the Co-operative Academy of Professional Education under the Department of Co-operation, Government of Kerala, and was taken over by the Government of Kerala on 11 December 2013. The College of Nursing functions within the same campus, which spans around 60 acres and includes a 700-bedded medical college hospital and the Cochin Cancer Research Centre. The campus also has furnished hostels for students, resident quarters, and staff quarters. Facilities available to students include a cafeteria, gymnasium, library, football stadium, basketball court, volleyball court, and indoor badminton courts. Each year, separate graduation ceremonies are held for both MBBS and nursing graduates. The nursing college is part of the broader academic and clinical environment of the medical college, which also offers biomedical engineering and Operation Theatre courses on the same campus.
