Al-Falah University
Al-Falah University (AFU) is a private university in Faridabad district, Haryana, India, established in 2014 by the Al-Falah Charitable Trust under Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda's Congress government, through the Haryana Private Universities (Amendment) Act, 2014. Its founder and managing trustee, Javed Ahmed Siddiqui, was previously convicted for fraud worth ₹7.5 crore and sentenced to three years in prison. The university operates five schools: Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Education & Training, Humanities & Languages, Physical & Molecular Science, and Social Science. It was recognised by the UGC, NAAC, AIU, and NMC, but since 2025 has faced investigation or suspension by these bodies and law enforcement agencies including the ED and NIA over financial irregularities, fraudulent accreditation, and alleged terror financing links, following raids triggered by the November 2025 Red Fort car-blast in Delhi. The ED alleges the university collected over ₹415 crore between 2018–2025 through misrepresented accreditation, diverting funds via shell companies. Senior officials were found to have alleged links to banned organisations Jamaat-e-Islami and SIMI, and some employees, including doctors, are being probed for suspected involvement in a terror module.
