Zakura Campus, University of Kashmir

Zakura Campus is one of the satellite campuses of the University of Kashmir, situated in Zakura, Srinagar, in close proximity to the university's main Hazratbal campus. It was developed on 300 kanals of land to accommodate the university's expansion requirements. As of 6 July 2025, the campus houses the university's largest engineering academic hub, the Institute of Technology (IOT), which offers four-year B.Tech courses in Civil, Mechanical, Electronics and Communication, and Electrical Engineering, two-year M.Tech programs in E&C, Electrical, and Mechanical, and a 4-Year B.S. through Design Your Degree. Other campuses within Zakura also provide several PG, Integrated, and UG courses. The campus is part of the university's broader network of satellite campuses established to make education more accessible to people in remote areas of the Kashmir Valley, alongside North Campus (Baramulla), South Campus (Anantnag), and Kupwara Campus. Hostel facilities for boys and girls at Zakura Campus are directly supervised by the concerned Provost Office, unlike hostels at other satellite campuses, which are managed by the Hostel Allotment Committee.
