Pendekanti Law College
Pendekanti Law College was founded in 1991 by Pendekanti Venkatasubbaiah, a former Governor of Bihar and Karnataka, and is affiliated with Osmania University. Established by the Vasavi Academy of Education, it was formally inaugurated on 13 April 1991 by Chief Justice of India Ranganadha Misra, with Andhra Pradesh governor Krishna Kanth as chief guest. The college initially occupied a three-floor building in Himayatnagar before moving to a five-storey building at Viveknagar, Chikkadpally, Hyderabad. It offers three-year LL.B day and evening courses as well as a five-year LL.B course for post-intermediate students, each with sections of 80 students. In 2002–2003, six foreign students sponsored by the Indian Council for Culture Relations enrolled in the five-year course. The college awards medals and prizes to top students, including ones in memory of its founder and other notable individuals. It maintains a well-equipped library with about 5000 books and subscribes to 18 law journals. The faculty comprises 11 full-time members. Students participate in moot courts, chess, and cricket, and the college publishes a student magazine called LEX Visio.
