ASIAN SCHOOL OF BUSINESS

Asia School of Business (ASB) is a graduate business school located in Kuala Lumpur, founded in 2015 by Zeti Akhtar Aziz, former governor of Bank Negara Malaysia, and Professor Richard Schmalensee, Dean Emeritus of MIT Sloan. The school opened in 2016, welcoming its first MBA cohort, the Class of 2018, with the inaugural graduation held in Spring 2018. ASB offers a 12-month full-time MBA, a 16-month MBA for Working Professionals launched in 2019, and a Master of Central Banking program for central bankers. In 2020, ASB merged with The Iclif Leadership and Governance Centre to form the ASB Iclif Executive Education Center, which provides corporate governance and executive education courses. The school moved into its 30-acre campus in Kuala Lumpur, located beside Bank Negara Malaysia headquarters, in the second half of 2020. The campus includes an academic village and residential quad accommodating over 1,200 students, faculty, and staff. ASB partners academically with MIT Sloan, offering students short-term residentials at MIT's Cambridge, Massachusetts campus, and graduates receive Affiliate Alumni status at MIT Sloan. The school also hosts several research centers, including the Maybank Center for ASEAN Research and the Central Banking Research Center.
