Roorkee college of Education

Roorkee Adventist College began in 1927 as Seventh-day Adventist Inter College, Roorkee, founded by F. H. Loasby as a pioneer missionary school. It initially served as a training school for mission workers in the North-Western Union, gradually expanding its curriculum to meet the needs of students from Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. In 1942, under Pastor E. R. Streeter, it gained recognition from the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and the Southern Asia Division as a Division Co-Educational School. The Uttar Pradesh State Education Department recognized it as a Junior High School in 1961, and under Dr. E. A. Streeter it was upgraded to a High School. In 1971, it affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, offering ICSE and ISC programs. In 1989, under Dr. Edwin R. Dass, it became an Inter College. The Adventist Accrediting Association approved its transformation into a higher education institution in 2001, known as Roorkee Adventist Community College. By 2003, it was renamed Roorkee Adventist College and began offering degree programs in Computer Science, Science, Management, Information Technology, and Commerce through Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University, Srinagar, Uttarakhand.
