Kodagu Institute of Medical Sciences
Kodagu Institute of Medical Sciences is a medical college situated in Kodagu, Karnataka, India. It is one of the several affiliated medical colleges under the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), a public university headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka. RGUHS was established in 1996 by the Government of Karnataka under the RGUHS Act of 1994, with the aim of regulating and promoting higher education in health sciences throughout the state, including medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, and allied health sciences. Prior to the formation of RGUHS, health science education in Karnataka was managed by multiple universities, resulting in inconsistent standards; RGUHS was created to bring uniformity and quality to such education. Kodagu Institute of Medical Sciences is listed among numerous other affiliated institutions of RGUHS, such as Ballari Medical College, Bengaluru Medical College, Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences, and Mysore Medical College, among others. No further specific details about the founding year, courses, infrastructure, or history of Kodagu Institute of Medical Sciences itself are provided in the available text.
