Punjabi University Education Regional centre Bathinda

The Guru Kashi Regional Centre at Bathinda is one of four regional centres maintained by Punjabi University, a collegiate state public university headquartered in Patiala, Punjab, India. Punjabi University itself was established on 30 April 1962 and is the second university in the world named after a language. Over time, the university expanded from its original jurisdiction in Patiala to cover multiple districts of Punjab, including Bathinda, which became part of its affiliated area when the university grew into an affiliating institution in 1969. As part of its expansion, Punjabi University established regional centres to extend its educational reach beyond the main Patiala campus, one of which is the Guru Kashi Regional Centre located in Bathinda. The university also maintains a related campus, the Guru Kashi Campus, at nearby Talwandi Sabo. These regional centres, along with neighborhood campuses and constituent colleges across Punjab, allow Punjabi University to serve a wider student population under the same administrative and academic structure governed by the university's Syndicate, Senate, and Academic Council in Patiala.
