INSTITUTE OF HOTEL MANAGEMENT

The Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition (IHMCT&AN), commonly known as the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), is a multi-location public hospitality school operating across India. It was established by the Ministry of Tourism of the Government of India and remains under that ministry's jurisdiction. The institute network caters not only to Indian students but also to international students from SAARC nations. Admissions to its hospitality and hotel administration programs are conducted through the National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology Joint Entrance Examination (NCHMCT JEE), also known as NHCM JEE, a national-level entrance exam. The National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (Society) itself was set up in 1982 by the Government of India as an autonomous body to coordinate the growth and development of hospitality education in the country. The IHM system includes institutes under central government, state government, and private management. Notable alumni associated with various IHM branches across India include chefs, actors, and other professionals who trained at different locations such as Mumbai, Lucknow, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Hajipur, Bhubaneswar, Panchkula, and Aurangabad.
