The Government College of Engineering and Technology, Jammu (GCET Jammu) is an engineering institute located in Chak Bhalwal of Jammu district, Jammu and Kashmir. Established in 1994 under AICTE norms, it is the first engineering college of the Jammu region and is affiliated with the University of Jammu. It was inaugurated by Governor General K. V. Krishna Rao on 5 October 1994 at the Old University Campus, Canal Road, Jammu. The college later shifted entirely to a New Campus spanning 869 kanals at Chak Bhalwal, near Amb Ghrota, about 25 km from the old campus. Admission is through a Common Entrance Test conducted by BOPEE. The college offers B.E. programs in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Communication, and Computer Engineering, each with 60 seats plus a 5% Tuition Fee Waiver provision, totaling over 300 seats. AICTE has also approved 54 M.Tech seats, divided among Mechanical, Computer, and Electronics and Communication branches. The Bachelor's degree program spans eight semesters, combining theory, practicals, and industry training. The college has a boys' hostel with two blocks, while a girls' hostel is under construction. In 2023, GCET Jammu signed an MoU with BIS-Jammu for industry collaboration.
