St. Francis Institute of Technology (Engineering College)

St. Francis Institute of Technology (SFIT) is an engineering college located in Mumbai, India, named after the 12th-century Italian saint Francis of Assisi. The institution is accredited by the ISO and the National Board of Accreditation, approved by the AICTE, and affiliated with the University of Mumbai. It is managed by the Society of Franciscan Brothers, with special consideration given to Roman Catholic students, and holds the distinction of being the first Catholic Technical Institute in India to acquire 'minority status.' SFIT offers undergraduate (B.E.) programs in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering, along with the Electronics and Telecommunications department. It also offers postgraduate (M.E.) and doctoral (PhD) courses in Computer Engineering and Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. The campus is situated in IC Colony, Borivali, spread over 5 acres in the western suburbs of Mumbai, and includes an open access library, a gymkhana with table tennis, carrom, and chess rooms, and facilities for outdoor sports such as throwball, football, basketball, volleyball, and badminton.
