NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF FASHION TECHNOLOGY, BANGALORE

National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Bangalore is part of the NIFT network, an autonomous institute headquartered in New Delhi that offers courses in fashion, technology, and management. NIFT was originally established in 1986 under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, and became a statutory institute in 2006 under the NIFT Act, gaining the power to grant its own degrees. The Bengaluru campus was set up in 1997, following the establishment of campuses in Chennai, Kolkata, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, and Navi Mumbai in 1995. NIFT currently operates 19 campuses across India. The institute provides labs such as computer labs, sewing machine labs, photography labs, pattern making and draping labs, weaving labs, dyeing and printing labs, and garment technology labs, along with student facilities including a library, hostel, canteen, health care, and sports center. Academically, NIFT offers undergraduate degrees like Bachelor in Design and Bachelor in Fashion Technology, postgraduate degrees such as Master's in Design, Master's in Fashion Technology, and Masters in Fashion Management, as well as full-time and part-time PhD programmes.
