Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (SUPVA) is located in Rohtak, Haryana, India. It was established on 5 August 2014 through Haryana Act No. 24 of 2014, formed by integrating four government technical institutions: the State Institute of Fine Arts, State Institute of Design, State Institute of Film & Television, and State Institute of Urban Planning & Architecture. These institutions were developed at a cost of Rs.300.0 crores by the Government of Haryana through the Government Technical Institution Society, Rohtak. The university's 36-acre campus was designed by architect Raj Rewal and includes seminar halls, laboratories, workshops, studios, an auditorium, a central library, a girls' hostel for 170 students, and faculty housing, though there is no hostel for male students. In April 2025, the Chief Minister of Haryana announced that SUPVA would mentor other state universities in starting filmmaking courses, and plans were underway for Panchkula and Gurugram Film Cities. The Film and Television Department has experienced prolonged academic delays, infrastructural deficiencies, faculty shortages, and administrative mismanagement, leading to student and faculty protests in 2016, 2023, and 2024.
