Gadag Institute of Medical Sciences is an Indian government medical college situated in Mallasamudra village of Gadag, Karnataka. It is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and provides education in medical, paramedical, and nursing fields. On 17 March 2025, the institution was renamed K H Patil Institute of Medical Sciences by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in honour of K H Patil. The college has several affiliated teaching hospitals, including Government District Teaching Hospital Gadag, Dundappa Manvi Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital, Urban Health Training Centre, and taluk hospitals in Shirahatti and Lakshmeshwar, along with primary health centres in Hulkoti and Nagavi. It offers a four-and-a-half-year MBBS course with a one-year compulsory rotating internship, as well as undergraduate degrees in Allied Health Sciences and Nursing. Postgraduate courses include MD, MS, DNB, and CPS. Notably, it is the only college overseen by the National Board of Examinations to offer a postgraduate DNB course in surgery in Karnataka, and the only Indian medical college to secure postgraduate seats in all clinical departments within five years of its founding. The institute comprises numerous academic departments, including Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, General Medicine, Surgery, Orthopedics, and Dentistry, among others.
